Because Perkins are abysmal and unreliable for parts here I had to keep that one going with 5 minute epoxy and patches for a few months waiting for the part. On scratching that out it turned to have eroded the wall thickness right down and I ended up with a hole the size of a small coin. It rotted inside to out and formed a small hole that then leaked. Stand facing the bell housing while it is attached to the engine and simply measure across the face of it to get the SAE number. The stainless one ruptured catastrophically almost exactly 7 years from new, the cast iron one lasted much longer and was on an old motor but clogged inside with scale ,and the perkins aluminium elbow I assume was about 10 years old. I've had cast iron, cast aluminium( Perkins ) and stainless steel ( Lombardini)elbows on different motors. You need to order the part and get it done, when they rot ,they rot from the inside out and you risk water going where it shouldn't.
